GrantMedicalCollegeMumbai is one of the premier medical institutions inIndiaand the oldest institution teaching western medicine inAsia. It has been rated amongst the ten best medical colleges in the country (India Today survey 2007). The foundation stone ofGrantMedicalCollegewas laid on March 30, 1843 and the college started functioning in October 1845. The college is named after Sir Robert Grant who was the Governor of Bombay and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the college.

GrantMedicalCollegeMumbai is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.GrantMedicalCollegeis attached with Sir Jamsetjee Jeejebhoy Group of Hospitals. The Group of Hospitals includes theJ.J.Hospital, St George Hospital,GoculdasTejpalHospital, and Cama andAlbessHospital.

Undergraduate:
Candidate must pass Higher Secondary (10+2 level) / Equivalent Examination from a recognized Board with the Science subjects PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

Diploma:
Candidate must pass their Matriculation or Higher Secondary (10+2 level) examination from a recognized Board.

Post Graduate:
Candidate must have a MBBS Degree recognized by Medical Council of India.

Undergraduate:
The admissions are done on the basis of merit with constitutional reservations, done by the centralized process by Govt. of Maharashtra. 15% seats are filled by DGHS though All India PMT of the remaining seats, 30% for State Level and 70% for Development board area (Rest of Maharashtra).

Post Graduate:
Of the total 130 seats available for the postgraduate programme - 25% students are admitted through All India entrance exam, 25% seats are filled through in service Medical officer's quota and the remaining seats are filled through state level entrance exam.
