The institute started conducting the graduation courses under the heading of D.A.S.F. in 1942. In 1971 with C.C.I.M.'s permission B.S.A.M. course was started and the college got the affiliation of 'University of Bombay'. The current B.A.M.S. course was started in 1973 under Bombay University. Every year 60 students get chance to learn 'Ayurved-the science of life' in this prestigious institute. Since 1983 the college is also conducting M.D. / M.S. (post-graduate courses) courses successfully. Almost 20-25 students per year perform there post graduate studies in various subjects like Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Shalakya ;in this oldest institute. It is approved research center for Ph.D. studies in the field of Ayurved.

B.A.M.S.

Affiliation	Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (M.U.H.S.)
Qualification	H.S.C.(Science) examination passed
Medium of course	Hindi/ Marathi/ English/ Sanskrit
Selection procedure	On the basis of Marks obtained in C.E.T.
Capacity	60 students
Course Pattern	Total 3 academic years, each year consists of 18 months followed by 1 yr. Internship (6 months in Podar Hospital + 3 months in P.H.C.+3 months in Govt. Hospital).
Course Fee	As per govt. rules
Mode of Admission	Through MHCET conducted by Competent Authority appointed by Govt. Of Maharashtra

 

Ayurved Vachaspati (M.D./M.S.)

Duration	3 Yrs
Affiliation	Mumbai University
Qualification	B.A.M.S.
Medium of course	Hindi/ Marathi/ English/ Sanskrit
Selection procedure	On the basis of Marks obtained in PGA-C.E.T(Postgratuate Ayurved Centralised Entrance Test) conducted every year in the month of Jan-Feb.
Capacity	*   20-25 students
Course Pattern	2 academic years, first year consists of 12 months and second academic year consists of 24 months.
Course Fee	5000 Rs/annum
Stipend	According to Govt rules of Residency Scheme which can range from Rs. 7000-8000 per month

 

Doctorate In Ayurved( Ph. D in Ayurved)

Duration	Minimum is 2 years till completion of study

Selection procedure	Depends on the availability of Guide from Podar Ayurved Institute. Guides and recognition of Departments by the University is available in 8 different subjects. One may need to contact the Guides individually and personally
